Genoa are closing in on the signature of fringe Inter midfielder Joel Obi, and hope to have a deal completed within the next couple of weeks.
The 24-year-old versatile Nigerian international has spent another frustrating campaign on the outer of the Nerazzurri first team, and looks certain to be offloaded in the summer.
FcInterNews.it report that Genoa are in pole position to take Obi off the Nerazzurri’s hands, and are preparing an offer to bring him to the Marassi.
The offer is circled around a one-year loan, with a forced option to buy after the player makes a specified number of appearances for the Grifone.
The next two weeks are decisive for the deal, as Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini sees Obi as a perfect fit on the left-wing or in the center of his 3-4-3 formation.
Obi made 11 league appearances for Inter this season.
