After Giannelli Imbula rejected a move to Inter in favour of Porto, the Nerazzurri are said to be considering Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva as their next target.
Now, according to Tuttosport, Inter have re-established contact with Liverpool midfielder Lucas as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The 28-year-old has previously been linked to Inter, and the club are said to be keen on the player partly because he holds an Italian passport, thus will not take up a non-EU transfer spot, as Serie A clubs can only sign two non-EU players from abroad per season.
Lucas made 20 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season.
