Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, who has been linked strongly with a move away from the club this summer, is close to signing a new contract with the Milan club.

The former Udinese man’s current contract expires next summer and since the turn of the year, it was being suggested that a move to the Premier League or to Spain could be on the cards for the net-minder.

FCInternews.it report that a new deal for Handanovic has been agreed and is now missing only the player’s signature for a contract that will be extended by a further two years until June 2018 with the option of a further year.

He is also going to receive a wage increase under the terms of the new deal with his current €2 million yearly salary to be hiked up to €2.7m which could rise to as much as €3m depending on bonuses.

There will also be no get out clause for Handanovic in the contract with the Nerazzurri not including any stipulation that would allow him to leave should a Champions League side make an offer for his services.
