Inter are set to battle Roma for the services of Hellas Verona utility man Jacopo Sala.

The 23-year-old Italian youth international began his career in the Chelsea youth academy, but failed to make a single senior appearance for the Blues, before moving onto Hamburg and then Verona in 2013.

Due to his consistent performances and his versatility – he is able to play anywhere in midfield or even as a wing-back – Sala has attracted attention from several big clubs in Europe.

Telenuovo report that both Inter and Roma have been keeping tabs on the player this season, and are set to do battle for his signature in the coming months.

Liverpool have also been linked in the past few months, and want to bring him back to the Premier League as they look to improve on a disappointing season.

Sala made 16 starts for Verona this campaign, scoring two goals in the process.
