AC Milan captain and midfielder Riccardo Montolivo is ready to return for the Rossoneri after recent tests revealed his injured tibia is completely healed.

The 30-year-old originally suffered the injury while playing for Italy in a pre-World Cup friendly against the Republic of Ireland on May 31 2014, ruling him out for the next six months.

Despite returning for the Rossoneri on November 30 in a 2-0 victory over Udinese, Montolivo failed to return to full fitness and only made 10 league appearances over the remainder of the season due to reoccurring issues with the injured tibia.

Those issues look to be behind him however as Montolivo recently underwent tests to determine whether further surgery was needed, but those fears have been put to rest as the Italian has been given a clean bill of health.

Montolivo originally joined Milan on a free transfer from Fiorentina in 2012 and has since gone on to make 88 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri.
