Unai EmeryNapoli are set to miss out on appointing Sevilla head coach Unai Emery as recently departed Rafael Benitez’s replacement.

The Spaniard left the Partenopei following the conclusion of the Serie A season and was quickly confirmed as the next Real Madrid head coach. Emery had been the number one target for the club, but he looks set to reject the move.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, an offer of €3.8 million per season was on the table for Emery but he is opting to stay put at Sevilla and Aurelio De Laurentiis is now evaluating other options including former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli and former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti.

It is also reported that Marseille’s Marcelo Bielsa is being lined up as an alternative if the club cannot reach a deal with either Prandelli or Spalletti, who are both immediately available, having not held a head coaching role since 2014.
