The Argentine has been linked with a move to newly-promoted Premier League club Watford, but talks have been placed on hold due to reported interest from the Partenopei.
Despite the Azzurri’s interest, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is keen to complete a €13 million plus add-ons move for the Empoli man as Perotti is seen as a back-up plan should a move for Saponara fall through according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Any offer for the ex-Sevilla winger would likely be in the €10m range, matching Watford’s offer that was reportedly accepted by Genoa last week.
