Barcelona defender Gerard Pique believes victory over Juventus in the Champions League final would cap off a ‘perfect’ season for the Blaugrana.

The two giants of European football will square off at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Saturday, and the Spaniard knows that a win and thus a Treble in Luis Enrique’s first season as coach of the club would be a monumental feat.

“We are close to reaching our goal. All of our fans don’t have a ticket but it is like they are with us. We’ve worked for this all season and we want to win,” Pique admitted at a pre-match press conference.

“It would be a fantastic season even without this trophy. We must play, 90 minutes separates us from perfection.”

“We will have good control of the ball tomorrow. The Italians can hold it, as we saw at the Estadio Bernabeu and we saw what they can do. We are ready to press, we want to guide the ball and create chances.

“We have an excellent team, one of the best our club has had. We struggled at the beginning of the season but we have recovered. This is a chance to show what we are capable of.

“What can we expect from Juventus? I think we will have possession. Then they will counter, as they have players that can strike from one side or the other. We must focus on keeping possession in order to score. ”
