Real Madrid are turning their attention to Inter striker Mauro Icardi as they look set to miss out on Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.

New Madrid coach Rafael Benitez had been keen to land Aguero, however the talented Argentine seems set to remain at the Etihad causing Benitez to turn his attention to the 22-year-old Nerazzurri striker.

According to AS, with City unwilling to let the 27-year-old leave at any price, Icardi is now in the viewfinder of Spanish giants as he would be a more realistic and attainable option for Los Blancos.

While Icardi recently renewed his contract with the Nerazzurri, it remains to be seen whether Real can tempt the Italian’s offer with an offer they can’t refuse.

Icardi’s 22 Serie A goals saw him share the Capocannoniere crown with Luca Toni in what was a breakthrough season for the former Sampdoria man.
