Roma and Monaco are close to reaching an agreement over the monetary value for the services of forward Mattia Destro, who is subject to strong interest from the Ligue 1 side.

The 24-year-old Italian does not seem to be in coach Rudi Garcia’s plans for the upcoming campaign following his loan spell at AC Milan, but apparently the Lupi are not willing to make compromises regarding his price tag, either.

According to Sport Italia, Monaco’s latest offer of €12 million is two million short of what Roma are keen to receive for their player.

While negotiations continue between both teams, Roma’s Serie A rivals Fiorentina are also reportedly keeping tabs on the seven-cap Italian international, although the Viola may only be interested in a loan deal.

Destro scored a combined total of eight goals in 31 appearances for Roma and Milan during the recently completed campaign, his last goal coming in the Rossoneri’s 2-1 victory over the Giallorossi in May.
