Roma forward Juan Iturbe has been attracting interest from Spanish side Atletico Madrid with the Colchoneros keen on a transfer during the summer window.

Despite enduring what can be at best described as a mediocre season following his €22m move from Hellas Verona last July, the Argentine’s performances have not deterred Atletico coach Diego Simone.

Reports coming out of Gazzetta TV suggest that Atletico will make a move for the winger in the coming weeks but that the success of any transfer deal will rely on the outcome of certain issues within the Giallorossi’s own camp.

Victor Ibarbo’s loan from Cagliari is expected to be renewed ahead of the 2015-16 Serie A, while the future of Radja Nainggolan is still clouded in uncertainty, with the latest reports suggesting that youngster Daniele Verda could move to Cagliari in order to secure the future of the Belgian midfielder who is co-owned by both clubs.

It is understood that Roma will first attempt to resolve these pressing concerns before entertaining offers for Iturbe whose season highlight was scoring the winning goal in the Derby della Capitale which secured second place for his side.
