Sampdoria have announced that Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang has signed for English Premier League side West Ham United for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old rejected a switch to AC Milan in favour of a move to London to join newly appointed coach Slaven Bilic at West Ham.

The Blucerchiati broke the news and used it as an opportunity to wish Obiang well after seven years spent at the Stadio Lugi Ferraris.

“President Massimo Ferrero and the whole club would like to thank Obiang,” the club’s official website said.

“It’s been a wonderful journey that started in 2008 in the youth team and continued all the way to the first team.

“Good luck for the rest of your career.”

The former Spanish Under-21 international left Atletico Madrid to join the Genoa-based club and made over 130 times for the Blucerchiati since making his debut back in 2010.
