Swansea City are reportedly ready to battle Torino for the signature of Atalanta midfielder Luca Cigarini this summer.

The 29-year-old, whose current contract with the Orobici is set to expire in June 2018, has attracted the attention of several clubs throughout Italy based on his admirable performances last term, including the Granata and Sampdoria, though it seems like the Swans are ready to compete with previous favourites Torino in order to bring him to England next season.

According to Gazzetta.it, Swansea have been in contact with the Atalanta executives in recent days to determine how much the Italian may cost them and have learned that they may have to spend a bit over €5 million for his services, which they may be prepared to do.

Reports also suggest, however, that La Dea sporting director Pierpaolo Marino could be unwilling to let Cigarini go to the Premier League if the Bergamo outfit were to lose the much sought after Daniele Baselli in the coming months.

The midfielder provided three assists in his 33 Serie A appearances last term.
