AC Milan will today discover whether or not they have received the blessing of local authorities regarding the building of their new stadium.

The decision lies in the hands of Fondazione Fiera, who will announce the winning bid to redevelop old exhibition halls in the Portello region of the city, with a rival planning on building hotels, bars, offices, and pedestrian areas on the potential home of the Rossoneri, believed to be the more likely winner.

Should Milan lose out on this particular stadium project, Tuttosport report the Diavolo’s have confidence in alternative destinations for a new stadium; one of which would be the centre for the World Expo 2015 which is currently taking place in the city and would be available for conversion once the event finishes in October.

Another possible new stadium site is in the Falck part of Sesto San Giovanni, a region also just north of the city centre, which is initially favoured due to good transport links by train and road.
