Belgian side Anderlecht have confirmed their capture of Sampdoria striker Stefano Okaka.

The striker has cost Anderlecht around €3.5 million and is likely to replace Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, the Roma target, having joined Premier League club Newcastle United last week.

Anderlecht used Twitter to announce the signing of Okaka.

The 25-year-old enjoyed an excellent start to the 2014/15 season, earning his first call-up to the Italian national team and scoring the winner in a friendly against Albania at the home of Sampdoria, the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

He remains, however, stuck on a single cap for the Azzurri after his form tailed off in 2015, and with one-year left on his contract the Blucerchiati have allowed Okaka to leave for Brussels in a deal confirmed by Belgians.
