Avellino confirm Napoli bid for Trotta
The 22-year-old Italian youth international only joined the Serie B outfit in January from Fulham, but made a huge impression as he net five strikes in 16 games.
“There were discussions with Bologna for Trotta,” Taccone told Piuenne.
“They were very interested, and were offering players like [Roberto] Acquafresca and [Daniele] Cacia in exchange, but the deal did not take off.
“Even Napoli have made an official bid.”
It remains to be seen what action Avellino will take with Napoli’s offer, but the Serie B side will have a tough time keeping top-flight sides off their most valuable asset.
