Barcelona have made an enquiry to take Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti to the Camp Nou.
The talented 22-year-old native of Pescara has firmly solidified himself as the future of the Azzurri midfield and the core of PSG’s playmaking, and the recently crowned Champions League winners are willing to move in for his signature.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona’s sporting director Ariedo Braida have opened initial negotiations with the Parisians as they look to bring the player to La Liga.
However, it is believed that the Ligue 1 champions do not intend to sell the player as he remains to be the focal point of the project at the Parc des Princes.
Verratti made 32 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG last season, scoring twice and laying on another eight.
