Montoya was long seen as a replacement for Dani Alves at the Camp Nou. However, the player never really established himself at Barcelona and was a a bit part player during the 2014-15 season. Montoya endured limited first team action last season making only nine appearances for Barcelona in La Liga last season.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Montoya arrived in Milan on Thursday morning ahead of a medical and is expected to complete his move to Inter later in the day.
Montoya was also pictured with Inter president Erick Thohir at Malpensa airport in Milan this morning as the two crossed paths.
Thohir is expected to now be engaged in a series of meetings with other club officials about their next steps in the transfer market.
