Bayern Munich say attacking midfielder Mario Gotze is going nowhere, despite ongoing interest from Serie A champions Juventus.

The 23-year-old German international is reportedly a leading contender to fulfil the playmaker role at the Juventus Stadium next season, but his club insist that he is not for sale.

“Bayern Munich haven’t put any player up for sale and this, to date, includes Mario Gotze,” said Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in an interview with Kicker.

“All players deserve a second chance, including him. He has our full support.”

Bianconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri recently stated that a trequartista – or advanced playmaker – is vital to his plans for next term, with a host of other names said to be on the Old Lady’s shortlist, including Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and Chelsea’s Oscar.

However, it’s believed that Juve are currently pursuing alternative lines of enquiry, as negotiations continue with Schalke over the availability of Gotze’s international compatriot Julian Draxler.
