Bologna’s move for FC Porto midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero has come to a disappointing halt.

According to reports in Italy a return to Serie A for the ex-Pescara man was believed to be close, with Bologna his most likely destination.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia, due the Portuguese side increasing their demands to around €20 million for the Colombian, €5m more than had been previously agreed, the Rossoblu have pulled out of the deal.

Bologna will return to Serie A this season after being promoted from Serie B via the play-offs.

The Felsinei have been looking to strengthen ahead of the new season and Quintero would have been Bologna’s fifth signing of the summer after Lorenzo Crisetig, Ibrahima Mbaye, Luca Rossettini and Antonio Mirante.
