Federico Bonazzoli admitted that he would have liked to move to Sampdoria from Inter earlier in the season after he officially signed in January before spending a further six months with the Nerazzurri on loan.
The 18-year-old also spoke about his objectives with the Blucerchiati and the figures who inspire him in football.
“If it had been up to me, I would have moved to Genoa in January,” said Bonazzoli to Samp TV.
“Six months have gone by and now my dream has become reality and I can enjoy being at Sampdoria.
“Now that I’m here, I have met with coach Walter Zenga and we both share a past at Inter and I must say that he is a very good coach.
“I need to thank [Walter] Mazzarri and [Roberto] Mancini as they gave me the opportunity to launch myself in the football that matters.”
The young striker also described how he sees himself as a player.
“I consider myself to be a fairly complete forward, a mobile one,” said Bonazzoli.
“My idol is [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and I still try to pick things up by watching his videos.
The former Inter striker also spoke about what his goals are going into the 2015-16 season.
“I’m looking to make as many appearances and score as many goals as possible, with the team looking to make it to the Group Stage of the Europa League” said Bonazzoli.
