Cagliari forward Duje Cop has joined Spanish side Malaga on loan.

The Sardinian side were relegated to Serie B last season and have been looking to shift some of their higher earners to help deal with the financial difficulties of moving down into a lower division.

The deal was announced via Cagliari’s official website with a statement saying “Cagliari announces that it has loaned attacker Duje Cop to Malaga for the upcoming season.”

“The two clubs have reached an agreement which provides an option for Malaga to purchase Duje Cop after next season. ”

The Croatian forward joined the Rossoblu on loan from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2015 and moved to the club permanently at the end of last season.

Cop managed to score four goals during his short stint in Sardinia.

However, it now looks as Cop’s future is in Spain and not in Italy.

The Rossoblu have also sent Colombian Victor Ibarbo on loan to Roma for the coming season.
