Former Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro feels that the Old Lady are still the team to beat in Serie A despite some high-profile departures over the course of the summer transfer window.

The retired centre-back also believes that another one of his former sides in the shape of Inter will be able to impress during the 2015-16 Serie A season.

“Juventus are still the team to beat,” said Cannavaro to reporters while attending a commercial engagement at Expo 2015 in Milan.

“[Andrea] Pirlo, [Carlos] Tevez and [Arturo] Vidal have all left but young players have come in and they’re ready to be important for the team.”

The 2006 World Cup winner was also asked about what sides he feel will pose the biggest challenge to Juve in the Scudetto race.

“Inter, it seems to me that Roberto Mancini has a good plan in place,” said Cannavaro.

“And Roma, they’re a solid squad.”

Cannavaro made 74 appearances and scored six goals for the Bianconeri between 2004 and 2006 before moving to Real Madrid.
