Italian interest in Baba Rahman appears to have come to an end as Premier League champions Chelsea have reached an agreement with Augsburg to sign the Ghanaian left-back ahead of the start of the new season.

Both Juventus and Roma had been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old who, despite his age, has been a rising star in the Bundesliga for some time having made his league debut with Greuther Fürth in 2012.

However, Rahman appears to be on his way to west London with Bild reporting that Chelsea have agreed a €25 million euro transfer fee for the player who is expected to sign a contract worth between €2 and €2.5 million per season.

The fee agreed with the Blues is ten times what Augsburg paid for the player exactly a year ago and so represents an impressive piece of business for the small Bavarian side.
