Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah is close to joining Roma after Walter Sabatini met his agents in London.

Roma director of football Sabatini has reached an agreement for the Egyptian’s personal terms and must now convince Chelsea to sell their winger.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea want €20 million plus €5m in bonuses for the 23-year-old.

Salah has been the subject of major controversy, having vetoed against joining Fiorentina permanently after the deadline to do so had passed.

Chelsea are keen to resolve the dispute with Fiorentina amicably, and acquiring Mattia Destro from Roma as part of the Salah deal and then loaning him to la Viola would be pleasing solution for all.

However, the prospect of Roma’s Alessio Romagnoli being included as part of the negotiations is bleak, as Jose Mourinho does not consider him a priority.

Roma are keen to conclude negotiations for Salah soon, while Inter are still thought to be monitoring the situation.
