The agent of Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has ruled out a move to Bologna this summer, insisting the player will stay with the Partonopei.
The 27-year-old Dutch international endured a mixed debut season in the Serie A, never really establishing himself as a first-choice under Rafa Benitez, despite scoring some crucial goals during the course of the season.
Newly-promoted Bologna have been linked with the midfielder as they plan to embark on a spending spree this summer, but Fabio Parisi, De Guzman’s agent, insists his client is going n0where.
“I have not received any signal from Napoli over the potential sale of de Guzman to Bologna,” Parisi told Radio Crc. “I spoke with the player, and he is fine with the new coach.”
“He is impressed by the hard work and quality that is taking place and hopes to continue to be part of this squad, even if you read a lot of other things.
“The truth is that no one contacted us to start a negotiation.”
