Everton have made an inquiry into the availability of Inter defender Nemanja Vidic.

The Serbian centre-back had a less-than-inspiring first campaign with the Nerazzurri last season following his move from Manchester United. Vidic could now be on the move as Inter look to free up funds for new additions.

According to Tuttosport, Everton are keen on bringing back the ex-Manchester United man.

The Toffees lost out to West Ham for the signing of Italian international Angelo Ogbonna, so a centre-back is high on Roberto Martinez’s wanted list, and Vidic is one of the alternative targets to whom the manager has turned his attention.

The 33 year-old made 23 appearances for Inter last season however he was unable to help the side finish higher than a disappointing eighth in Serie A.

Vidic made his name at Old Trafford after he moved to Manchester in 2006.
