Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has assured Sampdoria fans that the club will be fine without coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

AC Milan prized Mihajlovic away from Sampdoria this summer but Ferrero insists Sampdoria can still do well next season.

“Life will go on as usual without Mihajlovic.” Ferrero said in an interview with DagoSpia.

“I remain confident that Sampdoria is going in the right direction and that we can continue to do well.

“I dont think that spending a lot of money on transfers is a guarantee for success.

“What is more important is that you build a squad which is together and driven.”

Ferrero went on to discuss his love for Roma and his chances of running the club in the future.

“Roma will always be in my heart, I do find it hard when we play against Roma.”

“If I were to buy Roma then it would be the last thing I do in football.

“I am, however, committed to Sampdoria and excited about what is to come at this great club.”
