Bayer Leverkusen defender Giulio Donati has opened the door on a return to Italy with Napoli and Fiorentina both interested.
The 25-year-old full-back has spent the last two season’s in the Bundesliga following a €3 million transfer from Inter in June 2013.
“My agent is talking to several clubs. Fiorentina are one of those who are interested and would be a welcome target, let’s see if the deal materializes,” the former Lecce loanee told Radio Blu.
“The Viola have an ambitious coach and in recent years have achieved very good results. In Florence, there is a stable society, I would love to go there to play. The Bayer officials and my agent have a good relationship with Fiorentina.”
The Partenopei have also registered their interest as Maurizio Sarri steps up his search for defensive cover ahead of the new season. Donati has made 31 appearances for the German club in two years.
