Paulo Sousa has admitted he would have liked to keep Stefan Savic at the club following his departure to Atletico Madrid.
Savic moved to Atletico in return for Mario Suarez and around €9 million, and now Sousa is eager for the Spaniard to join the club.
“I am a coach and I want quality players like Savic in my team” Sousa told Radio Bruno Toscana.
“I will try to improve my defence after losing such an important player.
“But the club made its decisions and as always was trying to do what is best for the club, and I accept that.
“I am waiting for Suarez. He still has not arrived and still has not trained with us.”
