Mohamed Salah FiorentinaFiorentina are exploring the avenue of legal action as Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah nears a move to Roma.

Salah was in excellent form during a six month spell with the Viola last season but the Egyptian’s stay in Tuscany was not extended after the player snubbed Paulo Sousa’s team despite their belief he was contractually obliged to stay.

“The two clubs [Chelsea and Roma] are only negotiating the final figures and bonuses,” said Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas to LaRoma24.it.

“It is true that the lawyers of Chelsea and Fiorentina are talking, but what the Viola demand is baseless; they signed a contract saying the player could leave, and now because Salah has played well they have changed their mind.”

Chelsea have applied to FIFA to provisionally confirm the transfer while attempting to reach a settlement with Fiorentina, but the Gigliati will not give up without a fight.

Midfielder Oriol Romeu had reportedly been proposed to the Tuscans as a peace offering by the Blues last week, but the action currently being taken by Fiorentina could lead to court-determined damages and compensation from the Premier League champions, or even the suspension of Salah for up to six months.
