Fiorentina winger Joaquin has refused to rule out a return to Real Betis this summer.

In spite of Betis president Juan Carlos Ollero dismissing a potential transfer, the former Spain international is still open about his desire to finish his career at his first club.

“Anything can happen in football and there is still a long time before the transfer window closes,” the 33-year-old told the media after a morning training session at a pre-season camp in Moena.

“But right now I am still happy in Florence.

“We have been working hard in training over the last few days but I am happy about beginning another new season.

“Things are going perfectly, we are working towards achieving something important.”

Joaquin also hopes that fit-again forwards Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez can finally form a formidable strike partnership for Fiorentina.

“Giuseppe is crucial for us,” he continued.

“Whenever he is on the ball you can see that he takes us to another level.

“We also know what [Gomez] is capable of. We hope that both Gomez and Rossi can play a major role in the league this season.”
