Roma’s pre-season preparations have been thrown into turmoil as bureaucratic issues meant five of their players were unable to enter Indonesia.

The Giallorossi are set to play warm up friendlies in the Far East Asian country, but Adem Ljajic, Seydou Doumbia, Victor Ibarbo, Gervinho and Antonio Sanabria all saw their visas rejected and have returned to Italy.

Sky Sport Italia have reported that Roma have allowed the players to continue training at home. Meanwhile, coach Rudi Garcia now has a selection dilemma on his hands as his squad has been left depleted.

The five non-EU players could not secure a visa in time and were turned away, but the rest of the squad were granted entry.

Roma have travelled to compete in the “AS Roma Indonesia Day” as part of a series of lucrative summer friendlies.
