Inter youngster Samuele Longo has been linked with a move to Serie A newcomers Frosinone during the current transfer window.

The Italy U-21 international spent the second half of last season on loan at Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano, making nine appearances but failing to find the net during his time in La Liga.

According to SportItalia, Nerazzurri coach Roberto Mancini wants to wait until the end of the tour of China before making a decision on the young forward’s future, with the former Manchester City boss impressed by his recent performances and seriously contemplating keeping the player at the club as Mauro Icardi’s understudy.

“For now I’m here with Inter, working each day and enjoying this opportunity. Then we’ll see what the club will decide, what I want to do is to score goals and do well during the new season,” Longo told Inter Channel.

The 23-year-old striker has failed to break into the Italian giants’ starting XI in recent seasons, spending time on loan at fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona during the 2013-14 campaign.
