Roma winger Victor Ibarbo has revealed that he only ever wanted to be a Giallorossi player despite receiving other offers earlier this summer, as the Colombian prepares for his first full season with the capital club.

The 25-year-old joined Roma on loan from Cagliari in January, with the deal being extended for this upcoming season with an option to make the move permanent for €8 million.

“I’m going to Australia on Saturday to join my teammates, who started on July 5th,” Ibarbo told As.

“Did I have offers from other clubs? I signed with my club. I had offers but I wanted Roma and I am happy.

“Playing in the Champions League, we will have a lot of matches to play and I must be ready. I will continue to work with humility and sacrifice.

“Am I happy to play in the Champions League? Yes, it is my dream to face great teams. It was a missing piece in my career and I want to go as far as possible.”

Ibarbo made 11 appearances in all competitions for Roma last season
