Angelo Ogbonna - Juventus Vs. EvertonWest Ham are ever closer to sealing a deal with Juventus over Italy defender Angelo Ogbonna.

The Hammers are expected to confirm a transfer soon for the centre back but will have to stave off last-minute competition from fellow Premier League team Southampton, in order to acquire their man.

According to Tuttosport, West Ham have agreed personal terms with the player and a four year contract worth €2.2 million a season is ready for the 27-year-old. The fee is likely to be around the €11 million mark and despite the Saints offering €2million more, Ogbonna prefers a move to the East London club.

The defender spent five seasons with Torino, collecting 160 appearances prior to moving to city rivals Juventus for €13 million in the summer of 2013.

With the Bianconeri he has made 55 appearances in two seasons and won two Serie A titles but could never pin down a starting spot in the heart of defence.
