Juventus are edging closer to the signing of Schalke 04’s Julian Draxler after talks previously appeared to have stalled, with the Bianconeri hoping to conclude negotiations in the immediate future.
The talented 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Germany with Arsenal leading the early race, however nothing materialised and now Juventus are in pole position, although reports that a fee had been agreed were quickly dismissed by the player’s agent.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri remain keen on taking the German international to Turin initially on loan, while Schalke want a permanent deal worth in excess of €30 million but Juve remain hopeful they can wrap the deal up after sporting director Giuseppe Marotta opened a new line of dialogue with the side from Gelsenkirchen.
Draxler has spent his entire career to date with Schalke, having joined the club as an eight-year-old and has racked up over 100 appearances for the side.
