Zdravko Kuzmanovic admits it was difficult to leave Inter, but is raring to go for his new club Basel.

The 27-year-old Serbian international re-joined the Swiss champions at the end of last month, after two and half mixed years at the Nerazzurri in which he never really established himself as first-choice.

“It was my decision to come back here, at a club in which I consider my home,” Kuzmanovic told FcInterNews.it.

“I never had any doubts when the opportunity presented itself to wear the shirt of Basel. The management showed great enthusiasm to still want me and this made me happy.

“Inter is a great club, a dream of every footballer, but in the end I decided to go home. I won’t hide the disappointment of leaving the club and it was not an easy decision.

“I say thank you to everyone at the club for the two and a half years I spent at Inter. I have good memories and salute all the fans. I hope that this year they win some silverware.”
