Lazio’s club doctor has played down any fears that Ravel Morrison may have suffered a serious injury.

Morrison went down during the first half of Saturday’s friendly against Vicenza, after a challenge by Stefano Giacomelli, and limped off before half time but the Biancocelesti team doctor, Roberto Bianchini, has calmed any fears of a serious injury to the 22-year-old.

”The player has been for an x-ray and also a scan,” he told Lazio Style Radio, “The results look like they are positive we could see that it was just a very bad sprain and is mainly on the ligament that is on the outside and the front of the ankle.”

Morrison, who signed a pre-contract agreement with Lazio in January, has already impressed the fans with his displays in friendlies so far, having scored four goals in two games, and Bianchini feels the England Under-21 international won’t be out for too long.

”His recovery time will be around eight to ten days but it is still early to tell, however we have also had consultation from our consultant orthopedic, Roberto Lovati, who agrees with our diagnosis.”
