Lazio reach agreement with Genk for Milinkovic-Savic
The 20-year-old enjoyed a superb debut season in Belgium, and was also an influential figure for the Serbia under 20’s as they clinched the FIFA U-20 World Cup last month.
The player was close to joining Fiorentina last week, but the Viola pulled out at the last moment after becoming frustrated with the repeated delays in the completion of the deal by his agent.
Sky Sport Italia report that Lazio director Igli Tare traveled to Belgium personally and agreed a €9 million fee with the Belgian outfit late on Thursday evening.
The player only has to agree personal terms and undergo a medical, which seems a formality at this point, in order to complete the deal and start a new adventure in the Serie A.
Milinkovic-Savic scored five goals in 24 matches for Genk last season.
