English side Liverpool are lining up an offer to sign Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez.
The German international has struggled since moving to Florence in 2013 and has been heavily linked with a move to Turkish side Besiktas this summer but it appears that five time European champions Liverpool are also interested in the former Bayern Munich forward.
According to the Daily Express, Liverpool are keen on signing Gomez despite the club being on the verge of signing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
Liverpool have already sign forward Danny Ings this summer and have Divock Origi available for first team duties after his loan spell at Lille last season.
Gomez could join Liverpool with the club looking to move on current forwards Ricky Lambert and Italians Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli.
