Edin Dzeko Manchester CityManchester City striker Edin Dzeko has edged closer to a switch to Roma this summer.

The Bosnian striker already has an agreement with the club’s sporting director Walter Sabatini, who is trying to work out a deal with the Citizens.

The 29-year-old was left out of City’s squad for the friendly against Roma on Tuesday, leading to speculation about his seemingly imminent exit.

“Edin didn’t play the last game as it’s not clear if he will continue with us. But he is still working here with the whole squad,” said Manuel Pellegrini to reporters.

The City coach’s words all but confirm that their striker will be sold and Roma have used the friendly against the English Premier league outfit in Melbourne as an opportunity to negotiate a deal for the former Wolfsburg man.

Dzeko’s countryman Miralem Pjanic is believed to have played a major role in convincing the Bosnian captain to move to the Eternal City.

Dzeko is thought to be disenchanted with life in Manchester, managing only four goals in twenty-two Premier League appearances in 2014/15.
