Inter manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that he is pleased with his side’s progress despite poor pre-season form.

The Nerazurri have failed to register a single goal in their last three friendly defeats at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Aldi Cup as well as AC Milan and Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup in China.

Nevertheless, the 50-year-old coach believes that there is no cause for concern, and has emphasised that the conditions have played their part in the side’s woeful run.

“This tour has been good if you look beyond the defeats, which are never pleasing,” Mancini told Gazetta dello Sport.

“There have been so many changes to the team and he have to get used to the conditions.”

Mancini also turned his attentions on the club’s summer signings, and although the future is bright, the tactician conceded that there is still some tweaking needed.

“Geoffrey Kondogbia needs to train well, and also needs to learn to link up better with his teammates, [Martin]Montoya still has a lot of work to do as he is accustomed to a different style and Jeison Murillo is still finding his feet, but he can only get better.

“I’m happy for Stevan Jovetic’s arrival. He has different characteristics from [Mauro] Icardi and [Rodrgio] Palacio which will definitely prove to be useful.”
