Marseille hopeful of landing out of favour Napoli striker

Edu Vargas - NapoliMarseille are showing an interest in bringing Chilean striker Eduardo Vargas to the Stade Velodrome next season as the striker is set for another exit from Napoli.

The 25-year-old joined the Partenopei in 2012 from Universidad de Chile for a reported €18 million, but failed to score a goal in 19 appearances for the southern giants. He has since gone on to spend the last three seasons on-loan at Gremio, Valencia and Queens Park Rangers respectively.

Now according to France Football, Les Phocéens have entered the race for the forward and are ready to offer between €10m and €12m for the Chilean.

The French giants are hopeful coach Marcelo Bielsa can convince the former Cobreloa striker to join the ranks at Marseille.

The Santiago born forward managed four goals at the recent 2015 Copa America, and has an impressive goal record at international level, netting 22 goals in 47 appearances for his country.
