New Sampdoria signing Niklas Moisander is happy to be at the Ligurian side and the defender spoke enthusiastically about what he has experienced in his first few weeks with the Blucerchiati.

The Finnish captain also feels that the Doria squad is strong enough to have a good season under new coach Walter Zenga during the 2015-16 Serie A campaign.

“I am really happy to be here, to be part of a great club,” said Moisander at the club’s pre-season retreat in the mountain village of Ponte di Legno according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“There is a lot of quality in this squad and we are hoping to have a great a season.”

Moisander joined Sampdoria on a three year contract after leaving Ajax on a free transfer and Samp will be the first team the defender represents outside of his home country or the Netherlands.

The 29-year-old made 25 appearances for Ajax during the 2014-15 season as the Amsterdam outfit finished as runners-up, 17 points behind the champions PSV Eindhoven.
