New Inter signing Martin Montoya has declared his ambition to win the Scudetto following his transfer from Barcelona.

The right-back has moved to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on a two-year loan deal and has reiterated his desire to become a key member of the squad.

“I am very happy to be here,” said the Spaniard during his presentation press conference.

“This is a project that interests me; the club has young players and they want to win championships.

“At Barcelona I did not play many matches, therefore I want to appear more frequently and become a key member of the squad.

“I have come here to win the Scudetto; I have confidence in the team.”

The 24-year-old has also analysed the differing styles of Italian and Spanish football as well as discussing the recent claims that he would one day like to return to boyhood club Barcelona.

“Italian football is similar to the Spanish league but perhaps more tactical,” said Montoya.

“It has a more defensive style but I still hope that the quality of our football will entertain the spectators.”

He continued: “My words were misconstrued when I was speaking about a return to Barcelona.

“I hope to remain here for many years and win titles.

“At Barcelona we had four full-backs; here I want to demonstrate my ability in training and hopefully the coach [Roberto Mancini] will give me the chance to play more.”
