Napoli have approached AC Milan target and Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli.

Milan have seen numerous offers for Romagnoli rejected and Napoli are attempting to get ahead of the Rossoneri and land the Roma youth product.

According to Premium Sport, Napoli have approached Romagnoli’s agent to explore the possibility of signing the promising young defender.

Napoli have prepared an offer of €28 million, but the Giallorossi are remaining firm on their €30m asking price.

Romagnoli spent last season on loan at Sampdoria under Sinisa Mihajlovic, who is keen to reunite with the defender at Milan.

Milan’s most recent offer of €25m is thought to be their final offer and Roma seem determined to hold on to their man.

With Roma not exercising their option to sign Davide Astori and doubts over Leandro Castan’s ability to produce top performances after his return from injury, Romagnoli could be Rudi Garcia’s preferred choice to forge a long term defensive partnership with Greek star Konstantinos Manolas.
