Astori - CagliariNapoli have reportedly failed in their most recent attempts to come to an agreement with Cagliari defender Davide Astori as they look to sign him this summer.

The 28-year-old, whose current contract with the Rossoblu is set to expire in June 2017, just made his return to the relegated Isolani after spending last season on loan at Roma and it looks like he may already be on his way out once again if the Partenopei make him a considerable offer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Italian international’s entourage recently met with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli in order to discuss the player’s possible move to the San Paolo outfit but were unable to find a mutual agreement, though another meeting is expected to be held in the coming days.

Reports suggest that Fiorentina are still keeping an eye on the defender as well and could be the favourites to land him if negotiations with the Azzurri fall through.

Astori scored one goal in his 24 Serie A appearances last term.
