New AC Milan forward Luiz Adriano is looking to emulate the success of his fellow Brazilians that have previously played for the club.

The striker joined the Rossoneri in an €8 million move from Shakhtar Donetsk, but is still in his home city of Porto Alegre and is hopeful of joining the squad during their pre-season tour of China.

“When I think of Milan, I think of all the great Brazilians who have played here: Kaka, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Pato,” the 28-year-old told GloboEsporte.

“There are also players who made history, like Paolo Maldini and Clarence Seedorf. I too want to make history at Milan.

“I am very happy to wear the Milan shirt, as it’s a club of great history and tradition. It’s a dream come true.

“I can’t wait to come to Milan and start training with my new teammates.

“I’m waiting for my work permit and visa to get into China and take part in the pre-season tour.

“I am following the training regime set by the staff, so I’ll be prepared and ready to start work in the best shape.”
