Mario Suarez has thanked Atletico Madrid fans in a letter following his move to Fiorentina.
The Spaniard has spent his entire career at Atletico and wrote an open letter to their fans thanking them for the support he has received throughout his time at the club.
“There is nothing more difficult for me than to leave this club.” Suarez wrote to the fans.
“I have now officially joined Fiorentina.
“It was a very difficult decision for me but I feel the time is right to move on.
“I have great friends and unbelievable memories from my time at Atletico.
“I especially remember the European adventures I had at the club.
“I have realised so many dreams during my time with Atletico.
“I would like to fans all the staff, players and fans at Atletico for helping me during my time at the club.
“Aupa Atleti” Suarez finished his letter with Atletico’s famous chant.
The Spanish international joins Fiorentina in a deal which sees Stefan Savic move in the other direction while the Italian club also receive €9 million.
